Custom Mouthguards for Local High School Athletes

This fall our removables team fabricated custom-fit athletic mouthguards at no cost for student athletes at several Charlotte-area high schools, working alongside volunteer dentists who took the impressions.

How the program worked

Volunteer practices hosted impression evenings before the season started. Impressions and scans came to our lab, where models were poured and trimmed, and each guard was pressure-formed from layered material, then trimmed and polished by hand for a comfortable fit.

Our volunteers

More than a dozen Pearl Dental employees gave up evenings and a Saturday to keep production moving, and several joined the sidelines to hand out finished guards and storage cases to players and coaches.

Next season

We plan to expand the program to spring sports. Practices interested in hosting an impression night can contact us through the portal chat.
